ARTIST BIOGRAPHY

Tracey Malliaros
Tracey is an Adelaide visual artist practicing primarily in acrylic and oil medium with explorations of mixed media works. The media for each work is chosen to best reflect the imagery and emotion of the focus of the piece.
Primarily self-taught, her principal work is expressive, personifying her thoughts, feelings, emotions, perceptions and experiences. These are explored and revealed through pattern, form and opposites including colour, light and shadow, static and kinetic.
Tracey has recently discovered a love of portraiture, exploring and expressing the essence of the person through sketch and painting. She enjoys the challenge of employing a high level of expressive realism in these works which is a direct contrast to her other work.
Having undertaken a Bachelor of Jewellery Design in her twenties she retains an interest in design balance, three dimensional elements and working in metal which, while not represented in her current work is likely to emerge in future work.
